The Roz Box Makes Traveling With Pastels A Pleasure Trip!
When she found herself managing an artists' material store, Roz Gordon was entering a world she knew very little about. To understand the world of the artist, she studied art, took courses in drawing and painting. When she studied pastels she was almost shocked to find out that she had an innate talent.
She let that talent blossom and has since become an award winning pastel painter who not only paints and runs an exceptional retail outlet, but as a licensed psychotherapist also teaches painting as therapy for the mentally challenged and terminally ill.
Roz fell in love with Unison pastels. Designed by an artist to meet the needs of the artist, Unison soon became her preferred pastel. Unlike extruded pastels, Unison fit perfectly
in her hand. But there was a problem.
Roz solves the problem
If you're an advocate of plein air work or attend workshops away from home, you need a convenient way to store and carry your pastels. Run-of-the-mill pastel boxes did not handle the shape of the Unison pastel. So Roz Gordon designed her own box, the "Roz Box".
The Roz Box
The "Roz Box" is made of beautiful brushed metal with foam inserts that handle Unison pastels perfectly and keeps them safe and easily accessible as you travel.
The Roz Box: contains four trays with foam inserts • will hold up to 136 standard size pastels.

New item, well packed, immediate shipping direct from Richeson (supplier), good price, fits my Mount Vision pastels better than the cardboard boxes they come in. Recommended seller.
The Roz Boxes
Being a successful painter often means going where the subjects are. Kris Smith spends plenty of time traveling. Hours en route, flying or driving, packing and unpacking supplies add up to unavoidable wear and tear on an artist’s expensive equipment. And when you’re traveling with delicate pastels, the rough handling and day-to-day abuse can create some real problems. Smith knows the challenges of traveling for her art.
The Roz Box makes traveling with pastels easy and secure. That’s why her input on developing the Roz Box for Jack Richeson and Company was so valuable. She understands the critical importance of protecting her pastels in-transit and making her journeys safe for her supplies. “Finally, someone has created a case that not only looks professional,but one that protects my Unison pastels!” Smith says. “In addition to my commission work, I conduct workshops requiring travel around the country. I use hand-made pastels which do not fit in regular storage carriers. The Roz Box solves this problem! My pastels are fully protected from breakage, and the box opens to become a functional palette while I am doing demonstrations! Because of its standard size removable trays, I can substitute a tray that accommodates additional materials. The Roz Box has become an integral part of my art gear!”
