Moyers & Company: Fighting for Farmworkers (Enhanced DVD)

There is a food revolution going on in America today and no single group deserve to be rebellious more so than the American farmworkers. Mostly migrant workers, the conditions under which they work are often deplorable and their pay unfair. This documentary goes deep into these issues, shining a light on this neglected, yet important sector, of America's economy. Baldemar Velasquez is featured in this documentary. As a child, Velasquez followed his migrant working parents into the fields of hard farm labor. He was so deeply impacted by the things he saw, that later in life he founded the Farm Labor Organizing Committee. This committee has been influential in making change in farmworker conditions nationwide. This film highlights the continuing struggle of the American farmworker as shared by Velasquez.
