Bill Moyer documents the lives of two ordinary Milwaukee families. About twenty-two years ago, the breadwinners lost their jobs but did find more work later. However, they were retrained in new positions that paid lower. They also had to work longer hours. This kind of scenario sounds quite a bit like what has happened in America within the past seven years.

However, these personal accounts pertain to the economic decline specifically in Milwaukee. Bill recounts these people’s stories and speaks with authors Barbara Miner and Barbara Garson about how the changing economy affects us all. What does the future hold for America?
