Product Description:

The film focuses on one tribe in particular, the nomadic Naiman tribe. This is a tribe of horsemen, who are also family men. In spite of the not so great changes in their community, these men still find time to organize their business, school their children, and explore how the evolution has effected their way of life.

Adhering to the Chinese policy, it is custom to move as many han, from overcrowded central locations of China, to less populated locations. Places like Xinjing provide the perfect outlet for relocating. Whether or not Kazakhs can continue its independence is an open question that is yet to be answered. The video gives a clear view of the Kazahh society, and their struggles for independence on one hand, and dominance on the other. This 53 minute video is part of a series called the disappearing world.
