The Schoenhut Piano Company designs adult quality pianos for child sized fingers. The half sized three octave fingerboard fits the fingers of three to nine year olds while providing the sound of a professional instrument. Further, the keys are actually full width to encourage proper finger spacing and help in the transition to a full sized piano as the child ages up. There are no strings to tune, instead the piano uses chromatically tuned music rods of German steel.
