Cadmium red light, brought to you by Liquitex, is a high viscosity acrylic paint perfect for your painting needs. HV, or high viscosity, means that this paint has a thicker consistency than other acrylics which can lend to the artistic process. Thicker paint means a slightly longer drying time than other acrylics, which is helpful to most artists. Acrylics can be confidently mixed with water. Some choose to use a slow-dry medium with them to extend drying time. Cadmium red light offers a less saturated red than cadmium red or cadmium red medium. The vibrancy of pure cadmium red makes for a classic "fire engine red" color, while the light version is tinted, making it perfect for sunsets, cast shadows or to invigorate skin tones. A perfect pink can be made by adding white to this red hue, or a classic orange by adding yellow.
