Little Sister Video (DVD)

Little Sister Video is a video documentary about the rise to fame in music of two sisters in South Africa. Through the two sisters who call themselves Little Sister, we come to learn of the cross currents of the South Africa’s pop wave that are heavily reliant on American-style rock and roll. The two sisters’ music performance is associated with the white capital of South Africa.

In the documentary film the sisters are interviewed. They describe their rise to spotlight as a sort of “divine accident”. To show this, one sister, Debbi, explains her growth from being a classical guitarist to being an electrical guitarist. She says she is among rare female bass guitarists in the male-ruled South African rock music scene
