Grace Medicine Flower and Joseph Lone Wolf, Santa Clara Potters Video (DVD)

Grace Medicine Flower and Joseph Lone Wolf are the brother and sister team that came out of the well known Tofoya family of Santa Clara Pueblo. They took the traditional pottery forms and made them with modern perspective. Grace & Joseph revitalized the pre-Columbian pottery of their forefathers the Mimbres.

This program explores their journey from the beginning process of digging for clay in the wild, then going through the process of refining it so it can be used, then, molding decorating and firing the clay into pots. Exploring their journey aided by their father, Camilio Sunflower Tafoya, the film contains archival footage.

This is a must-see for the potter who wishes to delve into techniques like sgraffito, polychrome and abstract design.
