Product Description:

A heddle loom is the ideal type of loom for learning how to weave. The BEKA SG-Series Rigid Heddle Weaving Loom is a high-quality product that has been enjoyed by generations of kids and adults since 1973. The BEKA Heddle Loom can be used by both beginning and experienced weavers. It's so easy to use that it is wonderful for teaching children who have never used a loom before. Once they learn, they will not outgrow the loom because it's versatile enough that skilled weavers can use it to make challenging patterns.

It comes in 20-inch and 24-inch widths. It is handcrafted from beautiful cherry wood. Danish oil is used to create a gorgeous warm finish. It comes with a 10 dent heddle, two shuttles, a pick-up stick, two heddle blocks, and a steel crochet hook to use for threading.

So far, so good! The instructions are a little "bare bones" but I found info on dressing the loom on youtube, so I'm having no problems. It's a nice basic starter loom and Madison has the best price!

I bought this loom for my 8 yr old granddaughter to use when she visits me. Previously she's completed a (blue ribbon) project on a SG20 Beka with no difficulty. I'm glad we skipped directly from the little potholder square loom to the adult size for this fifth generation beginning weaver.

Loom arrived quickly; it was easy to put together. But the instructions on how to dress it and provide tension were vague. After owning it for over a month, I'm still not able to use it properly. It needs something to hold the warp and provide tension. If you just wrap your warp around the the top and bottom dents, as you're supposed to, you won't get enough tension. I'm going to purchase a couple of 19" dowels to use for my tension, on my 20" Beka.

I think if I had the money to purchase another loom, I'd buy an Ashford or Kromski. And the two shuttles provided with the loom are at least 18" and it would be nice to have one abnout 1/2 that size...so, that's another purchase I'll need to make.

A lovely, simple and timeless loom. Easy to learn on but with potential to grow on.
