Here is some information on the replacement filters for the 5000 Vocarb:

The Prefilter is the only one that should be vacuumed, and that only collects dust, so you will not be vacuuming in any hazardous chemicals.

Regarding replacement filters, it really depends how often you are working in your studio. The HEPA filter is good for apprx. 5 years. The carbon filter, if used every day all day 5 days a week, should last around 8 to 10 months. In a clean environment, they last around 2 years, but every environment is different.
