I teach calligraphy in a medieval re-creation group, and re-sell supplies to my students and others. Higgins Eternal is my personal favorite ink. It is dense black and permanent. I have not used this ink in a fountain or cartridge pen, as I am concerned with clogging, but it is excellent for dip-pen use in both lettering nibs and crow quills.
