UNISON PASTELS Emma Colbert Sets Emma is a portrait artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Besides portrait art, she has some illustration work and landscape and wildlife series. She is more inclined to painting animals, with most of her portraits being those of pets. Her collection, however, includes a series of Irish and British wildlife too. According to her, no better pastel builds up the effect of fur like pastel. She uses a combination of velour paper and Unison pastels to create the effects.

The main color pastels she uses in her work are the Unison Soft Color Pastels. These are her preferred choice because of her love for their color ranges and their unique buttery texture. The fact that they are soft but not too much so as to crumble allows her to create thin color masks by just leaning slightly. Heavy leaning allows her to bring out the strength out of a color unlike in any other medium.
