The music of the East Asia and India is very different than anything produced in the West. No surprise, when people hear it the first time, it's a bit like getting splashed with a bucket of cold water, being like nothing heard before, except maybe from a 1960s hippies album or the Beatles. Indian Classical Music has been the foundation of many of the alternatives songs that came out of the 1960s, and the genre is still well-practiced today in India, similar to Western classical music in Europe and the U.S. This video provides a solid introduction to the music genre with performances by some of the most recognized Indian musicians.
