Winsor & Newton's Dammar Varnish is a pale yellow varnish that can be used to protect oil paintings, prints, drawings, and other pieces of art that are important to you. The Dammar Varnish dries quickly with a high-gloss finish. Varnishes made with dammar gum have low toxicity, but should still be used in a well-ventilated area with protective clothing. The Winsor & Newton Dammar Varnish, like similar dammar varnishes, may darken with age.

For best results, do not apply as a finishing varnish until the paint is completely dry. To be safe, it is best to wait six to nine months before applying any varnish to a painting.
