David Bitelli, a world renowned clarinetist who has played everything from classical, jazz to pop leads the viewer on a wonderful tour starting with the history of single reed clarinet to different styles and types, and benefits of one mouthpiece over another. The proper assembly of the clarinet is also introduced. Bitelli teaches the Boehm-system starting with proper finger position and usage of the diaphragm. The student learns how to articulate sound using correct tongue position and slurring to produce notes E, D, and C. The metronome is used to assist learning notes F and G, then to combine all five notes. Notes B, A, and F-sharp, are added with the demonstration of scales and octaves. The student begins to learn reading music and technical terms. The video there are exercises provided to reinforce the learning process.
