Chart Hits: Pop Music and Garage Music Video (DVD)
Garage music and pop music genres have each created chart topping music, but have very different methods of crafting their music. This twenty minute DVD video shows the differences between the two forms of music. The pop group The Corrs discuss how they create songs. They particularly focus on describing the development of their hit song "Would You Be Happier?". The formula they use is creating melody, lyrics, and choruses tightly wound together. Two garage artists -DJ Luck and MC Neat- are called upon to describe their musicality for this program. They go into how garage music involves sampling, writing lyrics, choosing sounds, and laying down tracks. This DVD is a good fit for music classes, music students, and people interested in pop and garage music genres.
