Product Description:
This DVD features an archive of the original broadcast of an original episode of the public affairs program Bill Moyers’ Journal, originally airing on June 6, 2008. This episode featured a discussion of the book What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception, and an examination of the role of race and gender in the 2008 presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

In the first half, Iraq experts Jonathan Landay and John Walcott, along with Greg Mitchell, former editor of Editor & Publisher, join Moyers to discuss a book by Scott McClellan, press secretary for George W. Bush that asserts the Bush Administration duped Americans into supporting the invasion of Iraq.

In the second half, Kathleen Hall Jameson, director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center and the late Ron Walters, distinguished political commentator, look at the impact of racial issues and gender issues on the Democratic primary election of 2008.
