Please click on links below for available Art Videos.} For most of the Quattrocento, Florence was the artistic, intellectual, and financial center of Italy and host to masters such as Donatello and Filippo Brunelleschi. This program, hosted by Andrew Graham-Dixon, considers the combined impact of the return to classical models of architecture, as embodied by the dome on the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and the discovery of the mathematical rules for calculating perspective, used to such remarkable effect in Masaccio's Trinity.
