Liszt at Weimar. {Discontinued.}The Archduke of Weimar brought one of the most famous men of his day to play the piano at his court. Here Liszt composed the Symphonic Poems and the revolutionary Faust Symphony. A romantic in his private as well as his esthetic life, Liszt sought to legitimize his affair with the Princess; when the Church refused her an annulment, Liszt took holy orders and was thereafter known as the Abb? Liszt. As for the relationship with the court, henceforth it was the composer who patronized the wealthy with his presence and his genius. Musical contents include sections of Ann?es de P?lerinage, Symphonic Poems Nos. 2, 6, and 8, A Faust Symphony, Piano Sonata in B minor, B?n?diction de Dieu dans la solitude. (54 minutes)
