    The bottom drawer stays closed via a lid pin system - When the top is closed and latched a pin locks the drawer into place - the top must be opened to pull the drawer out.

    I was initially apprehensive purchasing a foreign made Gerstner but I also didnt want to spend $650 for the comparable US made version......

    BOY AM I GLAD I SAVED MYSELF ALL THAT MONEY!!

    This International version is top notch.
    There hasnt been any skimping on quality - and aside for a couple of changes in some of the accents of the box I would venture to bet that this box will stand the test of time with its USA counterpart.

    Excellent good value. This case is to be used for gun cleaning supplies but may be too nice for that purpose.

    This Gerstner International case is made in China but is apparently made to Gerstners American specifications.

    The joints line up pefectly the hardware has been carefully attached and all the pieces are of solid wood except the drawer bottom which looks to be a thin 3-ply luan. I did find one stray drop of wood glue on the inside when the bottom drawer was removed.

    Overall this Asian made case is a beauty and a credit to the Gerstner name.

    An Gerstner American made version of this exact case is $320 the least expensive item they make.

    These cases as well as all Gersner cases can become family heirlooms.

    That I found this case at an Art Shop on sale and with free shipping was a surprise.

    Very nice chest. Using it for firearm cleaning brushes tools and parts. Madison Art very quick in shipping product. Disappointed in that it was made in China. No keys were in the package.

    The Utility Carrying Case is extremely well made and beautifully finished. It is too nice to use as a tool box. It is sad that it could not be made in North America at a competitive price.

    Classy well made tool box at an excellent price. Fit and finish is excellent. Size and usability perfect. My only regret is that it couldnt be made here for reasonable price.
