In this program, hosted by Andrew Graham-Dixon, Michelangelo's controversial painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, which pushed the limits of Christian art, and Raphael's deeply humanistic School of Athens are contrasted with Matthias Grunewald's disturbing Crucifixion and other works of the Northern Renaissance.
