Product Description:

Collaborative social responsibility is being embraced by companies in a variety of fields. Social responsibility, in its simplest form, is taking a larger role in society at large and using influence to better the world we live in. This documentary focuses on examples of collaborative social responsibility and successful partnerships between businesses and community agencies to improve society at large. Businesses such as Ethos Water donate portions of their profits to relief efforts such as water and sanitation projects around the world. RED, along with other companies, has created an entire line which is used to fund social issues such as AIDS research. This program also profiles Starbucks, Blue Hill Restaurants, Dow Chemical, Sun Chips, and Patagonia and their efforts to be socially responsible companies. The social issues addressed by these companies and others like them are as varied as the companies involved. Sustained energy innovations, environmental issues, vaccination programs, sustainable food systems and supporting local farmers are just a few of the issues examined. In addition, consumers often play a role in the collaboration and decision making of businesses that employ collaborative, socially responsible practices and values. The collaborative social responsibility practices used by all of these companies leads to positive branding in the minds of consumers and promotes and influences brand loyalty which, in turn, leads to a healthier bottom line for the companies involved.
